Hadrian's Wall comes alive to music

On 5 June the whole length of Hadrian's Wall will come alive to the sound of music.

During the Hadrian's Wall of Sound event - part of BBC Music Day - hundreds of local musicians will travel its 73 mile (117km) length using various modes of transport and passing a baton from performer to performer.

The event will start at daybreak in Bowness-on-Solway in West Cumbria and finish in Wallsend in North Tyneside, 14 hours later.

BBC TV and radio networks will be broadcasting live across the day, and there will be full online coverage.
