Giant Land Rover cake rises to the occasion in Solihull
A huge Land Rover cake weighing 600kg has been baked to celebrate production of Jaguar Land Rover's two millionth Defender.
It took Lara Clarke from Brownhills in the Black Country 150 hours to make it, and it contains 50kg of butter cream and 32 sponge cakes.
The creation, which is half the size of a real Land Rover, had to be lifted in position at the JLR site in Solihull by a forklift truck.
Clarke, who won gold at the Cake International Competition in Birmingham two years ago with a life-sized Johnny Depp cake, filmed a time lapse video of her making her latest creation.
She needed a professional oven to help bake it. "My poor little oven wouldn't have coped with all of that sponge", she said.
