First drawings of Roald Dahl's 'Danny' and 'BFG' go on sale

Rare illustrations depicting some of Roald Dahl's most loved characters have gone on sale for £85,000.

Drawings, including what are believed to be the first depictions of 'Danny, the Champion of the World', and 'The BFG', are part of a collection being sold at Birmingham's National Exhibition Centre.

The drawings are by illustrator Jill Bennett.

A first edition of Danny, the Champion of the World, signed by Roald Dahl is included in the lot as are letters between the author and Jill Bennett.

The Antiques for Everyone show is on at the NEC from Thursday to Sunday.
