'Mog On The Tyne': Cat cafe craze reaches Geordie shores

Newcastle-upon-Tyne has opened its first cat cafe called 'Mog On The Tyne', offering coffee, cake and cats.

The cats were all rescued from a shelter in the city.

Owner Kate Glasier said all the cats knew each other and were relaxed around people.

The idea is based on Japanese-style themed cafes where customers play with the cats whilst taking refreshments.
