From bin to table: Birmingham cafe transforms waste food
A cafe has opened in Birmingham which uses food from supermarkets and restaurants that was destined for the waste bin.
Volunteers from The Real Junk Food Project are intercepting some of the hundreds of tonnes of wasted food and transforming it into tasty meals.
The cafe, in the Ladywood community centre, is run entirely by volunteers, with customers paying whatever they can afford.
Garethe Hughes, who helps run it, said it was a crime how much food was wasted in the country.
