Sadiq Khan 'humbled' by Labour London mayoral win

Sadiq Khan said he felt 'humbled' after he was chosen to be the Labour candidate for the London Mayor election in 2016.

The Tooting MP came top in a poll of six, where former minister Tessa Jowell, who came second, had been seen as the frontrunner.

Other candidates were Diane Abbott, David Lammy, Christian Wolmar and Gareth Thomas.

Mr Khan later confirmed that he would stand down as an MP if was elected Mayor.
