Britain's canals: A bird's eye view by drone

Take an aerial tour of Britain's canals by drone starting at the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and flying over the Grand Union, Kennet and Avon, and Llangollen canals.

The drones take to the skies along some of the most dramatic canal scenery in England and Wales including Bingley Five Rise, the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, Birmingham's Gas Street Basin and Foxton Locks.

Canals: The Making of a Nation is broadcast on Tuesday 6 October on BBC Four at 20:00 BST and for 30 days thereafter on the iPlayer.
