IVF lottery: 'Our postcode stopped us accessing treatment'

Cuts to NHS fertility services mean the UK is now among the worst providers of state-funded IVF in Europe, campaigners have claimed.

Sarah Norcross from Fertility Fairness said accessing free treatment was now a "postcode lottery" for couples with fertility issues, with an increasing number of Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) slashing services or decommissioning them entirely.

The BBC's Inside Out programme met one couple from Essex who had had to raise £6,000 for private IVF treatment after their local CCG decided to stop funding specialist fertility services.
