Legal high addict 'nearly died'

A legal high user has said it took near death to stop him taking the drugs.

Speaking to BBC Look North, the man, who did not want to be named, said he started taking the substances when he was aged 44 and struggling with a mental health illness.

A blanket ban on legal highs will come into force on 26 May 2016 through The Psychoactive Substances Act.
