England's growing rubbish 'mountain'
Fly-tipping is a growing problem in the UK with a significant increase in reported cases of illegal dumping of waste on public and private land.
Over the past two years, government statistics show that the problem is getting worse with 900,000 cases of fly-tipping in England alone last year.
Fly-tipping blights the environment in cities, towns and the countryside. It also presents a potential danger to public health, and has a significant financial impact for those who have to clear up the mess.
Inside Out took a tour of some of England's worst examples of fly-tipping, from rubbish dropped on farmland to household waste left on roadsides and city streets.
Inside Out is broadcast on BBC One England on Monday, 19 September at 19:30 BST and nationwide on the iPlayer for 30 days thereafter.
