Drones and satellites track water leaks

Drones and satellites are the modern machines used to detect and track water leaks.

Severn Trent Water uses them, as well as its more traditional methods, to help meet its targets on fixing leaks.

The Midlands-based firm has reduced water leakage by four million litres (almost 880,000 gallons) a day but admits there is still much work to do.
