Video footage released after robot named Peaky blasted in space

Video footage of a robot launched into near space from a Hertfordshire school has been released.

Peaky, an Ohbot, was programmed by pupils at Roysia Middle School in Royston and launched in January.

The Ohbot, created by Mat Walker and Dan Warner, is an easy to programme robot head used in schools to teach children about robotics.

Peaky crashed shortly after launch but gave the journey another go soon after.

Schoolchildren programmed Peaky to react to changes in altitude and temperature..

Some of his phrases included "I'm now at the height an airliner cruises at" and "it's colder than the Arctic in winter up here."

Peaky was named after British astronaut Tim Peake and launched into the stratosphere using an expanding balloon.
