Royal Berkshire Hospital recruits Irish nurses
One in ten nurses at a Berkshire hospital is Irish because the trust has struggled to attract staff closer to home.
The Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading says it has been unable to find enough qualified nurses and has been recruiting from the Republic of Ireland to help solve its staffing problems.
The latest recruits have just completed their induction and another group is due to arrive in February.
More than a hundred Irish nurses have been hired by the trust in the past two years and the hospital is seeking more.
