Superfan escaped bullying in the world of Jane Austen

Jane Austen's novels helped a Berkshire fan escape school bullies and the author became her "saviour", a documentary has revealed.

Sophie Andrews, from Reading, discovered a passion for Jane Austen when she was nine after watching Pride and Prejudice.

To mark the 200th anniversary of Austen's death you can see more on My Friend Jane on Monday on BBC One at 19:00 BST.
