BBC presenter Kay Alexander appointed MBE
A former BBC television presenter has been officially honoured by the Queen.
Kay Alexander travelled to Buckingham Palace where she was appointed an MBE for services to broadcasting and charity work.
After graduating from the University of Birmingham in 1973, Ms Alexander, from Aldershot, joined the BBC in Birmingham as a reporter on Radio 4.
She later joined Midlands Today where she worked for more than 30 years. She retired in October.
