Plans for Birmingham's HS2 rail station revealed

Plans for Birmingham's high speed rail terminal on the site of the old Curzon Street station have been unveiled.

A 141-hectare area surrounding the station, including parts of Digbeth, will also be redeveloped under the proposals.

Birmingham City Council says the project will create 14,000 jobs and generate £1.3bn for the local economy should HS2 get the greenlight next year.

BBC Midlands Today's Cath Mackie spoke to HS2 Growth Taskforce chairman Lord Deighton, council leader Sir Albert Bore and Joe Rukin from protest group Stop HS2.
