Birmingham' NEC Group to be sold
Birmingham's NEC group has been put up for sale by the city council.
The group incorporates some of the city's biggest venues: the National Exhibition Centre, International Convention Centre, the LG Arena and National Indoor Arena.
Together the venues are estimated to be worth around £300m. The council is trying to make savings of £822m over the next four years, as well as settling equal pay claims of over £1bn.
The group supports the equivalent of 29,000 jobs, and the council said it wants the venues' existing uses to be retained.
