Aston Villa: Randy Lerner puts club up for sale

The owner of Aston Villa, Randy Lerner, has put the football club up for sale.

The American released a statement which said he owed it to the club to move on so it could look for "fresh, invigorated leadership".

He has appointed Merrill Lynch to look for a buyer.
