Midland's 'oldest man' Jack Jones to toast 108th birthday

A man who is thought to be the oldest in Midlands is about to celebrate his 108th birthday.

Jack Henry Jones reaches the milestone on Friday

Mr Jones, from Stourbridge, was born in 1908 when King Edward VII was on the throne and in the year that London hosted the Olympic Games.

During World War Two he built spitfires and spent much of his career as a lorry driver but his big passion remains supporting West Bromwich Albion.

He plans to spend his birthday with five friends at his residential home. When asked about the secret to his long life he said: "Take each day as it comes."
