Krays vs Fewtrells: Birmingham turf war inspires film
The life stories of the notorious Fewtrell family, who once ran more than 20 nightclubs in Birmingham, could be made into a film.
Eddie Fewtrell, who is one of eight brothers, was known as The King of Clubs. The legend is that in the 1960s he stopped the Kray twins from terrorising the West Midlands, as they did London.
Mr Fewtrell's son-in-law David Keogh spoke to Eddie, and the surviving Fewtrell brothers, and wrote a semi-fictionalised account of their lives in The Accidental Gangster.
