Police arrive at HMP Birmingham amid disturbance

Police carrying riot shields have been filmed arriving at HMP Birmingham where a disturbance by inmates has spread to four wings.

The West Midlands force said it did not mean its officers were inside the prison.

Trouble flared at the Winson Green site when staff prison keys were stolen when an officer was "rushed" by inmates.

Extra staff, some with dogs, have been sent inside the jail along with a specialist Tornado team of riot officers.
