Homeless man escapes burning tent

A homeless man just managed to get out of his tent before it was engulfed in flames after it was deliberately set alight.

Ian Gordon can be seen strolling up to the tent, pitched on grass off Carrs Lane in Birmingham, before starting a number of fires around it.

Gordon, 51, of Sheldon Heath Road, has been jailed for six years and six months for damaging property recklessly as to endanger life.

The victim was treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.
