Behind the scenes of BBC Doctors explosion episode

An explosion storyline from BBC medical drama Doctors has been broadcast after the lifting of Covid restrictions meant the crew could tackle a big set piece.

The Birmingham-based show recorded the programme last October, with daytime viewers watching the end result on Monday.

Amid safety preparations and a situation described as "nerve-racking", executive producer Mike Hobson said: "We're not scared of any storytelling in Doctors."
