Meerkats give their verdict on Black Country derby

It's become something of a tradition... a big sporting event preceded by animals predicting the outcome.

In keeping with it, BBC Radio WM has been to see the meerkats at Dudley Zoo ahead of Sunday's FA Cup Black Country showdown.

West Bromwich Albion face Wolves in a sell-out fourth round game at The Hawthorns, which, due to the Covid pandemic, is the first time fans have been inside a stadium for a Black Country derby since 2012.

It looked like the meerkats just about backed the Baggies to clinch things, although the decision was far from "simples" - a few seemed to favour Wolves before being pulled over to the West Brom cause.

But do they really have the gift, like the late, lamented Paul the Octopus? Only Sunday will tell.
