Bristol school revives conkers tradition

A Bristol school has revived the ancient custom of playing conkers in the playground.

The centuries-old tradition has fallen out of fashion at many UK schools and many teachers have health and safety fears about the sport.

Elaine Lawson, joint head at Cleve House School, in Knowle, said the decision to reintroduce the game was good for the pupils' sense of "fun" and "competition".
