Bristol NHS Blood and Transplant centre needs new donors

The NHS Blood and Transplant centre, in Filton near Bristol, is asking people with O negative blood to contact it.

It is in response to a drop in blood donations over the Christmas period.

The recent outbreak of the winter vomiting bug norovirus is being blamed for a 50% increase in the number of people failing to turn up to donation sessions during the holidays.

The BBC's Rachael Canter spoke to Jonathan Sewell from the centre and blood transfusion patient Sophie White.
