Clevedon Pier deckchair canvases designed by celebrities

Deckchair canvases designed by celebrities and the public are being sold to raise money for the Clevedon Pier visitor centre.

The pier received 184 entries to its design competition and has put the winning canvases on display.

They are being auctioned to raise money towards a £1.6m new visitor centre at the Grade I-listed pier.

The glass structure housing a cafe and a meeting and education space was given planning permission in 2011.

Pier manager Linda Strong told reporter Tracey Miller how she got The Stranglers and The Wurzels involved.
