Bristol tenants warned over online lettings scam

Prospective tenants in Bristol have been warned of an online scam which has seen flats which do not actually exist being advertised for rent in the city.

The scam has seen bogus landlords asking for large amounts of money in advance of tenants moving in.

One prospective tenant found that photos of a flat he had seen advertised for rent in Bristol were actually of a luxury apartment in London's Mayfair.
