Clifton Suspension Bridge birthday celebrations marked with fireworks

Thousands of people turned out to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the opening of Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge.

A fireworks display was the centrepiece of a two-day celebration of the bridge built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

The show was set off by eight-year-old Harry Bessant, who was born on the bridge when his mum went into labour in the car on the way to hospital.

The BBC's Catherine Powell reports.
