Duchess of Cornwall unveils tribute to Sir Daniel Gooch
The Duchess of Cornwall visited Swindon railway station on Thursday to unveil a new plaque naming the station forecourt Sir Daniel Gooch Place in tribute to the ‘founding father’ of Swindon.
Her Royal Highness met the people behind the memorial including representatives from Great Western Railway, The Steam museum and Swindon Heritage.
She also visited the Great Western Pub where a display of Sir Daniel Gooch’s belongings had been set up, and a new painting unveiled in the pub garden.
