Plaque unveiled on site of a Victorian workhouse in Bristol

A plaque, remembering thousands of people who were forced to live in a Victorian workhouse, has been unveiled.

The Eastville Workhouse, in Bristol, was know as "100 Fishponds Road" and was one of the largest workhouses in the UK.

In 2015 an unmarked mass grave containing the bodies of more than 3,000 paupers was discovered close by on Rosemary Green.

The memorial was dedicated to the memory of the people who lived and died in poverty.
