Newborough villagers fight solar power farms plan

More than 100 campaigners attended a meeting to voice their concerns about plans for three large solar parks being built near Peterborough.

Peterborough City Council wants to build a 900-acre (364 hectare) renewable energy park on farm land it owns near Newborough. The council says it needs to find "innovative ways" to generate revenue.

Opponents of the plan are unhappy about losing farmland.
