Battle to save Oliver Cromwell Museum
Campaigners are fighting to save a museum dedicated to the English soldier and statesman Oliver Cromwell.
Cambridgeshire Council says it cannot afford to keep open the Cromwell Museum in Huntingdon, the Puritan's birthplace in 1599. Closure would save £20,000 a year.
Campaigners say Cromwell is a hugely significant local figure and more than 3,000 people have signed a petition to save the museum, housed in Cromwell's old school.
