Peterborough teenager's online funeral watched by 4,000 people

The family of a 15-year-old who died of leukaemia say her online funeral has helped with their mourning process.

More than 4,000 people watched the streamed service for Haleema Hussain at a cemetery in Peterborough on 14 April.

Normally, hundreds would pay tribute at the mosque, but large gatherings have been banned because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Haleema's aunt Salma Latif said: "We've got family all over [the] United Kingdom, and we wanted them to be a part of our goodbyes, for them to see Haleema's final journey.

"It's kind of helped us through our mourning process, knowing that we're not actually on our own."
