Anti-cull saboteurs destroy badger traps in Devon

Anti-cull saboteurs are trespassing on farms in Devon and Cornwall to release badgers from traps and destroy the cages.

This year seven new licences were granted, external for parts of Cornwall, Herefordshire, Devon, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Dorset, as part of government plans, external to eradicate bovine TB.

Stop the cull spokesman Jay Tiernan said: "We're not there to have arguments with farmers, I'm there to stop badgers from being killed."

Defra have condemned the actions of the saboteurs, saying that "those licensed to undertake badger control operations must be allowed to conduct lawful activity without fear of harm or intimidation".
