HMS Coventry divers helped 'security of United Kingdom'

HMS Coventry was one of four Royal Navy warships sunk during the Falklands War in 1982.

A group of divers, including Clive Gale, were sent into the wreckage months later to recover or destroy documents and equipment that were of "importance to the security of the United Kingdom"

Mr Gale said: "It was at the time of the Cold War.

"The ship had gone down 14 miles off of Pebble Island and therefore was fair game to people who perhaps wanted to learn our secrets."
