Wasdale homes to be reconnected to electricity
An area of the Lake District which has been disconnected from the grid since Christmas Eve is to have its electricity reconnected.
Homes and businesses in the remote area of Wasdale have been using generators for electricity due to a fault in a cable running under Wastwater which could not be repaired.
Electricity North West has started the £1m repair job to reconnect the area, using a 1.2km cable which will run under the only access road into the area.
