Tullie House Museum's Lion and Unicorn are back to life

A Lion and Unicorn animatronic sculpture that has been out of action for 10 years has been restored to working order.

The unique almost life-sized figures have been a long time favourite for visitors to Carlisle's Tullie House Museum.

Originally commissioned in 1991 on the reopening of the museum, it was last seen in working order 10 years ago.

However, in a chance visit in 2011, a Carlisle engineer decided to come to its aid and bring it new mechanical life.

BBC Look North's Mark McAlindon spoke to Peter Grieve of Flight Engineering who restored the mechanics of the artwork.
