Carlisle residents rally round to help flood victims

People in Carlisle are rallying round to help the thousands affected by the floods caused by Storm Desmond.

The strength of community-spirit of the city's residents has been called on before and, once again, hundreds of volunteers are responding to help those those who have been hard hit.

In the Greystoke Community Hall, an emergency reception centre has been set up to offer temporary shelter and food.

Elderly flood victim, Jean Hall, said the volunteers are doing a wonderful job.
