Hopes of flood-hit Carlisle Trinity school reopening

A Carlisle school badly hit by flooding caused by Storm Desmond is hoping it may be able to reopen for some students by as early as next week.

Trinity School suffered serious flooded and there were fears it would be closed until the New Year.

But though hundreds of exams have had to be postponed, and reams of student course work and teaching resources have been ruined by the floodwater, the school is doing everything in its power to get things back on track.

Co-headteacher Derek Kay said the sense of community spirit has been inspiring.
