Old Thorntons chocolate warehouse in Belper destroyed

Gas cylinders were the likely cause for a series of explosions at an old warehouse in Derbyshire, the fire service has said.

The explosions happened on Derwent Street, Belper, at about 15:30 BST in a building on the former site of the chocolate company Thorntons. The warehouse was completely destroyed in the blaze.
