BBC Radio Derby's Colin Bloomfield treated for cancer

BBC Radio Derby presenter Colin Bloomfield has announced he will be taking a break from his breakfast show as he undergoes treatment for cancer.

The 31-year-old, who had a malignant melanoma removed from his leg more than 10 years ago, was told the cancer appeared to have returned and may have spread to his lungs.

He said he shared the news with his listeners to raise awareness of the disease, especially among young people.

James Roberson reports.
