Derby City Council cuts message is 'propaganda'

Derby City Council has been criticised for putting a 45-second message about government cuts on their switchboard.

Callers to the Labour-led authority hear a recording about budget cuts before being given menu options.

The message has been criticised as "anti-government propaganda" by Conservative leaders at the authority.

But the council said it was a "statement of fact".
