Man defends shop with 'Henry' vacuum cleaner

Footage has emerged of a shop worker fending off a baseball bat-wielding robber with a "Henry" vacuum cleaner.

The would-be raider demanded money but one of the men working in the Day and Night Pharmacy in Derby, who had been cleaning at the time, defended himself with the vacuum's nozzle.

The robber hit the counter with the bat, causing some damage, before he left on a child's BMX, police said.

The foiled raid happened at about 23:20 BST on 2 September at the pharmacy in Osmaston Road but the footage has just been released by police who want witnesses to come forward.
