Jack Mansfield: UK's 'oldest man' longs for the outdoors

The UK's "oldest man" has said the secret to his long life is working hard in the outdoors.

During his lifetime, 108-year-old Jack Mansfield, from South Derbyshire, has been a farmer and a gardener.

His daughter, Doreen Butt, 83, said: "He would give anything to be outside, cutting hedges. He's like a caged animal indoors."

Mr Mansfield's family said they were celebrating confirmation that he is the country's oldest man.

His next birthday is in December.
