BBC's oldest reporter Lincoln Shaw to get Legion d'Honneur

The BBC's oldest reporter is to receive France's highest honour - the Legion d'Honneur - for his wartime service.

Lincoln Shaw, 91, who works at BBC Radio Devon, was a rear gunner in the RAF during World War Two.

On D-Day his crew were sent to bomb the coastal guns at Cap Grenez in preparation for the Normandy landings.

He later became a journalist, rising to senior management in the BBC based in the Midlands.
