Divers to clear 1,000 tyres from Plymouth Sound

Marine archaeologists have estimated there could be 1,000 tyres on the seabed of Plymouth Sound, the city's harbour.

Volunteer divers and members of the Ships Project have set up a crowdfunder to try to collect the tyres from the ocean floor.

The Ships Project noticed the tyres while studying shipwrecks in Plymouth Sound.
