Replica of George III's Weymouth bathing machine refurbished

A replica of a royal bathing machine has been put back in place on Weymouth's seafront.

The full-size model is of a bathing machine used by George III when he visited the Dorset town in the 18th Century, turning it into a popular resort.

The king would change inside the carriage while it was wheeled by horses into the sea for him to take a dip.

The model has been renovated after being originally made in 1979 to mark the 200th anniversary of the monarch's first visit to Weymouth.
