Dorset's traditional fingerpost signs saved

Before the days of maps and sat navs they were an essential feature in many rural areas - fingerposts directing travellers from village to village.

Over the years many of the hundreds of fingerposts have become worn, broken and vandalised.

Communities in the county are now rallying round to preserve and restore their historic fingerposts.
