Calls for temporary traveller site for Dorset

Dorset's Police and Crime Commissioner and some councillors are calling for a temporary travellers site to be opened in the county.

A shortage of transit pitches has been making it more difficult for the police to move on illegal encampments.

A new site would be an interim measure while a longer term solution was found.

Dorset has been forced to go back to the drawing board after an earlier large scale consultation failed to find a suitable site.
